Academy News (Feb 2019)

Hectic Start to 2019

It has been such a hectic start to 2019 with both Brooksby & LFE development centres growing in numbers. We now have over 100 boys and girls enjoying our training sessions on a weekly basis across both centres.

The Coaching Team

We?re delighted that we have been able to add to the coaching team with Natalie joining the ranks at Brooksby and Evie at LFE who will be joined by Minty on March 5th.

This takes the team to 7 coaches and ensures that we have a healthy player to ratio which we strive to maintain for the players development.

The LFE Centre

We have been blown away by the number the girls that have been joining the Academy and we?re very close to having enough girls to form a team. We?re working closely with Kirby and have opened talks with the FA & Leicester City so we can form at least 1 girl?s team for the start of 2019/20 season.

We?re delighted to announce that official handover of the under 6?s to the new Kirby coaches has taken place with 16 boys selected to form 2 teams. Two coaches have already taken their FA Level 1 badge and two more parents booked to take the course in the Spring.

By being ahead of the Easter handover, these boys are now training twice a week as they now have their own training session on Fridays and officially moved into our main Academy.

LFE Mini Stars (under 4s & under 5s)

As one development cycle ends another one begins and the process to create teams for the 2020/21 season with Kirby Muxloe JFC has begun with some practice matches for the boys that are quite advanced with their development.

The Brooksby Centre

We now have enough players in the Academy to split into two smaller groups, this will certainly aid with the individual player development.

The official photoshoot for our partnership with Melton Foxes JFC has taken place and there will be a double page spread in the Melton Times in a few weeks time.

We hope that the Brooksby Centre will provide a structured pathway into grassroots football with Melton Foxes.

Grassroots Partner Clubs

We?re on the lookout for a third grassroots partner club who may be looking for extra help in forming teams and giving local boys and girls a good structured pathway into football.

We offer a FREE taster session at both of our Centres
